Indicators for disaster risk and risk management: Belize
This technical notes report encompasses a wide range of best practices, project evaluations, lessons learned, and case studies regarding disaster relief and relief management in Belize. Issues addressed: (i) whether the disaster deficit index illustrates economic implications of a great disaster; (ii) whether the prevalent vulnerability index accounts for susceptibility and aggravation factors of the direct effects of the disasters due to deficiencies in development in Belize; and (iii) whether the risk management index points out what has been achieved and what is intended to do for improving risk management in Belize.
