Know Disasters magazine: July - August 2021

Know Disasters is an international  magazine with an aim to "Making Disasters Everybody's business'. It is published by the Global Forum for Disaster Reduction and New Media Communications Mumbai. This is the sixth issue (July-August 2021) and the theme of current issue is Extreme Events and Disaster Risk Reduction.

Extreme weather events, associated disasters and emergent risks are becoming increasingly critical in the context of global environmental change. Oftent times, these intersect, interact and also overlap with other stressors. They are a potential major threat to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are one of the most pressing challenges for human well-being in future. Therefore, mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction into every aspect and dimension of the developmental process has become the need of the hour.
