Managing the environment in a changing climate
A report to Defra and the Welsh Assembly Government in response to a direction to report under the Climate Change Act 2008:
This adaptation report sets out climate change risks and United Kingdom's plans to address them. It involves protecting and improving the environment of England and Wales for people and wildlife and contributing to sustainable development. It is intended to help understand and respond to the factors that impact on these outcomes.
The report is an outcome of the Adaptation Reporting Power, which is a process under the Climate Change Act 2008 giving the UK Government the power to direct public bodies and statutory undertakers, such as utilities companies, to report on how they will address their climate change risks.
