The Manitoba challenge: linking water and land management for climate adaptation
This study argues that ecological watershed management has the potential to be a critical climate change adaptation strategy in Manitoba, a region of Canada that is projected to experience even more variable rainfall extremes. The book presents the case for technological and institutional innovation to enable effective ecological watershed management. Key elements of this innovation agenda include governance reform at the water-land interface, re-purposing existing resources, and designing new economic instruments to support watershed management.
