El presente manual de tiene por objetivo difundir la Campaña Mundial de Ciudades Resilientes. Mi Ciudad se está preparando, que UNISDR viene promoviendo, con la finalidad que los gobiernos locales, autoridades y comunidad asuman compromisos en la reducción de los riesgos de desastres. Los temas tratados: (i) difusión de la Campaña Mundial de la UNISDR “Desarrollando Ciudades Resilientes” en las diversas plataformas globales; (ii) acciones a desarrollar para lograr ciudades resilientes; (iii) campaña mundial sobre la reducción de desastres; y (iv) el papel de las municipalidades incluye: 10 aspectos esenciales para lograr ciudades resilientes.

In English:

This informative bulletin addresses activities being developed by partners within the framework of DIPECHO South America with financing from the European Union through its European Community Humanitarian Office (ECHO) to strengthen the preparedness and resilience of communities and institutions to cope with disasters. As part of efforts to strengthen activities of ECHO disaster risk reduction there are twenty-four projects being implemented in nine countries and three regional projects to support the preparation and protection of livelihoods of populations prone to droughts.

Topics covered: (i) dissemination of the UNISDR global campaign 'Making Cities Resilient Cities' in various platforms, (ii) actions to be taken to make cities resilient, (iii) the World Disaster Reduction Campaign, and (iv) the role of municipalities, including: 10 essentials for making cities resilient.
