Mid-monsoon 2019 lightning report: Lightning resilient India campaign

The Lightning Resilient India Campaign 2019-2021 is a joint initiative by the organizations that authored this report, and has support from many central and state government departments, academia, INGOs, local NGOs, media outlets and communities. The Campaign aims to reduce lightning deaths by 80% from 2019-2021 through a comprehensive, multi-pronged and innovative approach, as well as through collective action. This report is the first of its kind in India and provides an overview of the amount of lightning strikes and associated fatalities, and explores crucial case studies, animal lightning deaths and fatality avoidance strategies.
