Money and microbes: strengthening clinical research capacity to prevent epidemics
The World Bank and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) established the International Vaccines Task Force on Strengthening Country Capacity for Vaccines Research and Development (Task Force) in October 2017 to develop a set of recommendations on strategic investments that can strengthen clinical research and clinical trial capacity in low- and middle-income countries.
This report by the Task Force proposes ways in which national governments and development partners can finance investments in clinical research capacity and strengthen low- and middle-income countries capacity to conduct and participate in a late-stage vaccine trial during an outbreak.
