Montenegro: Risk reduction strategy from disasters with a dynamic plan of activities for implementation of the strategy for the period 2018-2023

The Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy (hereinafter referred to as the Strategy) aims to reduce and prevent the occurrence of new risks, strengthen the capacity of society and state institutions in responding to various types of disasters.

The main objectives of this Strategy (2018 - 2023) are:

• Raising public awareness and encouraging institutions to implement activities in the field of disaster risk reduction;
• Strengthening capacity for managing risks from natural and other disasters;
• Integrating disaster risk reduction into policies, programs, and plans;
• Creating safe and resilient communities against disasters.

In Montenegrin:

Strategija za smanjenje rizika od katastrofa (u daljem tekstu Strategija) ima za cilj smanjenje i sprečavanje događanja novih rizika, jačanje kapaciteta društva i državnih institucija u odgovu na različite vrste prirodnih i drugih katastrofa.

Glavni ciljevi ove strategije (2018 - 2023) su:

• Podizanje svijesti građana i podsticanje institucija na sprovođenju aktivnosti u oblasti smanjenja rizika od katastrofa;
• Jačanje kapaciteta za upravljanje rizicima od prirodnih i drugih katastrofa;
• Integrisanje smanjenja rizika od katastrofa u politikama, programima i planovima;
• Stvaranje bezbjednih i otpornih zajednica na katastrofe.
