National heatwave plan seminar: summary report

This report summarises the discussions on the heatwave plan for England during the annual seminar. This was the sixth annual heatwave seminar organised by the Health Protection Agency and Department of Health. The aim of the seminar, as in other years was to gather feedback that will aid towards revising the Plan ahead of re-launching it in May 2012.

The aim of the morning session was to review the Plan in light of European and other guidance, and relevant literature published over the last year. During the afternoon session, the organising team decided to focus on mass gatherings and heatwaves with the aim of providing relevant advice that could potentially be incorporated into the 2012 version of the Plan.
