Natural Disaster Youth Summit (NDYS) 2006
This leaflet presents the Natural Disaster Youth Summit (NDYS), a project in which children learn the importance of human lives and how to cop with the effect of natural disasters such as earthquakes, wildfires, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis and so on through the collaboration with global friends. NDYS 2006-2007 focused on the relationship between natural disasters and environmental problems such as water-related problems. The 2006 session included the making of a safety map through which students acquired the knowledge and power to cope with unexpected disasters wherever they live, thus growing as global citizens. The NDYS 2007 Conference held in May in Nagoya, Japan exhibited the maps.
