Nicaragua: Plan de adaptación a la variabilidad y el cambio climático en el sector agropecuario, forestal y pesca

Since 2010, Nicaragua has had the National Environmental and Climate Change Strategy (ENACC) and its Action Plan (2010-2015). This initiative has organized coordinated actions by different public bodies to advance in the confrontation of Climate Change.

In this sense, the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity (GRUN) has initiated the process to establish a reference framework for adaptation to specific climate variability and change for the forestry, agricultural and fishing sectors, requesting the participation of institutions, international agencies, unions and universities.

The Climate Change Adaptation Plan in the agricultural, forestry and fishing sectors is conceived as a strategic instrument that will contribute to strengthening the productive capacity of these producers over a 20-year horizon.

Nicaragua cuenta desde el año 2010 con la Estrategia Nacional Ambiental y de Cambio Climático (ENACC) y su Plan de Acción (2010-2015). Esta iniciativa ha organizado acciones coordinadas de distintas instancias públicas para avanzar en el enfrentamiento del Cambio Climático. 

En este sentido, el Gobierno de Reconciliación y Unidad Nacional (GRUN), ha iniciado el proceso para establecer un marco de referencia para la adaptación a la variabilidad y cambio climático específico para el sector silvoagropecuario y pesquero solicitando la participación de instituciones, agencias internacionales, gremios y universidades.

El Plan de adaptación al cambio climático en el sector agropecuario, forestal y pesca, está concebido como un instrumento estratégico que contribuirá con el fortalecimiento de la capacidad productiva estas y estos productores en un horizonte de 20 años.
