Nigeria post-disaster needs assessment 2012 floods
This document presents the findings of the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) conducted in Nigeria following the floods in 2012, when heavy rains struck the entire country. The PDNA provides a comprehensive and thorough assessment of both economic and social impacts caused by the flooding, as well as recommendations for immediate recovery and long-term resilience building in the country.
This analysis of the damage and loss assessment identifies the needs and quantifies financial requirements that would facilitate formulating comprehensive early recovery actions, medium-term recovery and reconstruction plans, and a long-term risk management and reduction strategy. The assessment also elaborated recommendations for immediate recovery and long-term resilience-building in Nigeria.
This is a report by the federal government of Nigeria with technical support from the World Bank, EU, UN, and other partners.
