Operationalize data-driven resilience in urban transport systems
This paper discusses tools to enhance resilience in urban transport systems (UTS) in the city of Florence, Italy. UTS resilience is considered an emergent property and it refers to managing high variability and uncertainty in order to pursue successful performance of the system continuously.
In the context of the RESOLUTE EU project, an Evidence-Driven Decision-Support System (EDDSS) is currently under experiment in the city. The system is composed of:
- a big data platform (KM4City), which manages huge amounts of static and dynamic data streams generated by different actors, such as hydrogeological risk maps, weather forecast or civil protection volunteers availability;
- the Collaborative Resilience Assessment and Management Support System (CRAMSS), which supports structured decision making for system adaptive management at the strategic, tactical and operational level.
