Policy recommendations: a year after Pakistan floods 2010

This documents provides recommendations as an outcome of a discussion on the lessons learnt from the 2010 Pakistan flood disaster on its first anniversary. It urges the establishment of an early forecasting system to minimize the loss in such circumstances in the future, recalls the constructive role played by the local communities and international donors, and addresses the importance of disaster-resilient structures and communities, political and bureaucratic will and capacity and financial resources.
