REGLAP policy baseline
This baseline of disaster risk reduction and drylands policies in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda was carried out in January 2011. The report details the status and content of various policies and the opportunities for policy advocacy. It states that the current policy environment pertaining to drought risk reduction for pastoralists in certain countries of Horn and East Africa offers significant opportunities for governments, donors, pastoralist groups, NGOs and other civil society actors to develop coherent interventions to address both chronic vulnerability to drought and respond effectively to drought events.
