Report on 2007-2008 'Water-related risk management course of disaster management policy program'

This documents reports on the activities and achievements of a a one-year Master’s programme aiming to foster solution-oriented practitioners with solid theoretical and engineering bases who can serve for planning and practices of flood management within the framework of integrated river basin management at all levels from nations to localities.
The course was conducted for the first time from 30 September 2007 to 19 September 2008 in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) and the eleven students were mainly technical officials, engineers or researchers in the field of river management or water-related disasters in developing countries.
