Report on the informal meeting of representatives from Parties and organizations and experts to consider the outcomes of the activities completed prior to the meeting
FCCC/SBSTA/2010/12:
This report provides an overview of the discussions on, and the issues identified in relation to, the implementation of the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change. It considers the increase in certain types of hazards (e.g. wildfire, floods and droughts) and highlights the advantages of taking a risk management approach to decision-making under uncertainties.
It contains experiences of, and views on, the implementation of the Nairobi work programme in terms of modalities, thematic and work areas, and knowledge outputs and products shared by representatives and experts. It also provides recommendations and suggestions on ways and means to strengthen activities beyond 2010 in support of enhanced adaptation action in all sectors and at all levels. It is part of the item 3 of the provisional agenda of the thirty-third session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice, Cancun, 30 November to 4 December 2010.
