Report on seismic risk assessment and its reduction on the territory of the Yerevan city

This report presents seismic risk for the city of Yerevan, Armenia, and discusses city's demography, characteristics of the seismic hazard zone, earthquake resistance of buildings and structures, and general preparedness and response to earthquakes. It also provides quantitative assessment and technical analysis of seismic risk for the city, presents the methods of increasing earthquake resistance of existing buildings developed by the National Survey for Seismic Protection (NSSP) and implemented in Armenia, and describes the national strategy for seismic risk reduction.

The report is one of a series published by the NSSP of Armenia as part of a contribution to the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (IDNDR).
