Resilience Development Initiative Newsletter Vol 3-4 2016
This newsletter features several updates and activities from the Resilience Development Initiative (RDI), an Indonesian think tank initiative that focuses on disaster, environmental change and sustainable development. Content in this issue includes:
- Cianjur Field Survey: RDI collaborated with Save the Children in conducting a rapid risk assessment on integration of disaster risk reduction, social protection and child protection in Cianjur District.
- West Sumba & Belu Field Survey: RDI collaborated with Save the Children in conducting final evaluation of el Niño emergency response for community exposed by drought in West Sumba and Belu.
- RDI Participation in 5th PIAD Capacity Building Workshop: RDI team participated in 5th Psychological Intervention After Disaster (PIAD) Capacity Building Workshop, and presented RDI research on Mt. Sinabung IDP communities.
- RDI Participation in Water Security and Climate Change Conference: RDI team participated in Water Security and Climate Change Conference, and presented RDI research on resilience perspective on water management in Indonesia.
- Voice of Members: Dr. Ayu Krishna Yuliawati shared her experience on getting her doctorate. RDI Interns, Ashley Carvalho, Michael Coffey, and Anna Himmelreich shared their opinions on working in RDI.
- New Projects: New projects undertaken by RDI.
- New RDI Members: RDI has new members: institution partner, GSGES Kyoto University & team.
- Awards: RDI members who have been awarded for scholarship, conference grants and training grants.
