Risk preparedness: A management manual for World Cultural Heritage
This manual provides the guidelines to create a new approach to cultural heritage conservation focused on prevention, aiming to develop strategies to protect heritage properties by reducing its vulnerability to naturals and man-made disasters. It introduces property-specific strategies to improve risk-preparedness for cultural heritage exposed to fire, earthquakes and related disasters, flooding and armed conflict. Its cultural-heritage-at-risk framework offers those concerned with the conservation of the built environment the chance to fully root their efforts in a concern for the preventive for the first time in the history of the movement.
