Rwanda: National disaster risk management plan, 2013
This National Disaster Risk Management Plan (NDRMP) aims to further develop the disaster risk reduction framework developed as espoused by the National Disaster Management Policy (2012). The 120-page document has six parts presenting both theoretical and practical core concepts that can be applied to Rwandan realities.
The plan was prepared by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs in partnership with its stakeholders from both government institutions and non-government partners. It outlines the activities that have to be carried out by various stakeholder agencies to ensure effective disaster management in Rwanda. The NDRMP specifies the tasks to be performed by organizations/institutions and individuals to deal with identified disaster types.
