Second advisory panel annual summary report for the UN Secretary-General’s early warnings for all initiative
This report highlights the initiative's efforts to enhance governance and foster strategic partnerships over the past year. The Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative, launched by the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General in 2022, aims to achieve universal access to Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems (MHEWS) by 2027, advancing climate resilience in alignment with Target G of the Sendai Framework.
A primary goal in 2024 was to enhance national ownership in the development and maintenance of MHEWS. To this end, partners collaborated closely with national authorities, equipping them with tailored resources such as expanded national costed road maps and a tool package offer for capacity-building. Looking ahead to 2025, EW4All will serve as a platform to advance coordination, develop normative guidance and foster partnerships which empower national governments to build sustainable institutional capacity for MHEWS.
