The paper is comprised of seven sections: (i) the first section contains the executive summary; (ii) the second section explains the scope and structure of the study; (iii) the third section discusses approaches to addressing loss and damage associated with slow onset events; (iv) the fourth section suggests practical methods of mitigating the effects of slow onset events; (v) the fifth section discusses potential issues with implementation; (vi) the sixth section explains how good governance and regional collaborations can enable societies to deal with the effects of slow onset events; (vii) and the seventh section advises as to how a community can develop an effective adaptation strategy.
