Somalia: National climate change policy

The Government of Somalia recognizes that climate change must be mainstreamed into policies and sectoral activities to achieve sustainable growth.

Somalia’s policy response to climate change will:

• Promote a harmonized, articulate and effective response to challenges and opportunities that accompany climate change;
• Deliver a framework that will guide the establishment and operationalization of interventions and action plans;
• Safeguard the safety and health of citizens, their prosperity and states development in the advent of climate change through enhancement of resilience and implementation of adaptive ability to climate variability.
