The Drought Plan seeks to provide Somalia with a system and mechanism to mitigate droughts and enable the establishment of a resilient society that can withstand drought shocks.

It focuses on the following strategic themes:

  1. Drought Monitoring and Prediction
  2. Drought Impact assessment
  3. Drought Preparedness through sustainable use of Water, Land and Natural resources
  4. Improving Emergency Drought Response.
