Step-by-step guide to inclusive resilience
These step-by-step guidelines have been made to guide Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Integrated Risk Management (IRM) practitioners to promote and mainstream inclusion of the most marginalized in IRM practices. The guidelines are intended to be used as a reference during program planning, capacity building, implementation, monitoring & evaluation, lobby and advocacy. Depending on the program focus, these guidelines can be adjusted to the local context, otherwise, they are generalised.
The report is structured with the following guidelines:
- Guideline 1: Who are the marginalised? (p. 24);
- Guideline 2: Involvement of marginalised groups (p. 32);
- Guideline 3: Inclusive capacity building for Disaster Risk Management (p. 36);
- Guideline 4: Involvement of marginalised groups in implementation (p. 41);
- Guideline 5: Inclusive Monitoring and Evaluation (p. 45);
- Guideline 6: Inclusive lobby and advocacy (p. 48);
- Guideline 7: Costs and feasibility to cater for marginalised groups (p. 53).
