Tajikistan: National disaster risk reduction strategy for 2019-2030

Taking into account the lessons learned from the risk management strategy from 2010-2015, this policy seeks to decrease existing risks and prevent new ones in order to build Tajikistan's risk management capacity. To fulfill this goal, the policy outlines four risk management tasks.

The progress made by Tajikistan in the field of decrease in risk of natural disasters for 1997-2018 is analyzed, strengths and weaknesses of the risk management process are considered, and attention is focused on methods of readiness and response to disasters. The purposes and tasks of a new disaster risk reduction strategy for Tajikistan are also determined.
