Toolkit to enhance access to climate finance: A Commonwealth practical guide

The Toolkit offers an overview of the key dedicated international climate funding opportunities, as well as the associated procedures, policies and requirements of the various climate funds. The Commonwealth Climate Finance Access Hub (CCFAH) is the flagship initiative of the Commonwealth Secretariat that provides technical support and capacity building for member countries to enhance their access to international climate finance. This Toolkit draws on the Hub’s experiences to provide a practical guide to enhance access to climate finance from dedicated climate change funds and multilateral organisations.

The Toolkit provides experiences, best practices and lessons learnt through the work of the CCFAH in areas such as:

1. Achieving climate finance readiness and understanding the associated support mechanisms
2. Human and institutional capacity development initiatives to support mobilisation of climate finance
3. Climate policy support for effective implementation of national climate financing frameworks.
4. Knowledge management and sharing across countries and regions for enhanced access to climate finance
