The 2016 edition of Tsunami Glossary includes the definition of technical terms, and information on the expert and governance groups for tsunami warning and mitigation.

Since 2015 changes to the content of the Tsunami Glossary are subject to the validation of the IOC Working Group on Tsunamis and Other Hazards related to Sea-Level Warning and Mitigation Systems (TOWS-WG) and subsequent endorsement by the Governing Bodies of the IOC. By this mechanism it is expected that the publication will be recognized and adopted by Member States as a validated standard in this field.
