Understanding past and future impacts of climate change in agriculture: implications for adaptation planning
This briefing presents research findings from the Adapting to Climate Change in China Project (ACCC) and provides recommendations about: climate and agriculture in China, the impacts of climate extreme events, the effects of warming on agriculture in the last fifty years, the implications of future climate change for crop production in China, and the implications of climate change have for grassland and livestock in China.
It is intended to provide decision-makers with the policy–relevant information they require for evidence-based adaptation planning, taking into account current and future climate change and variability. It aims to share China's experience and lessons learnt with other developing countries in order to reduce their vulnerability to the impacts of climate.
