UNDP’s transformational role in Turkey’s climate change agenda

This document presents UNDP’s role as catalyst, broker and provider of expertise in helping Turkey embracing the challenges of climate change. It highlights UNDP’s contributions in strengthening the understanding of the intrinsic linkages between climate change, growth and sustainable development. It also showcases UNDP's support in making the decision-making platforms participatory and consultative, with increasing number of political initiatives and, most importantly, the integration of climate change in cross-sectoral national development policies, such as the mainstreaming of climate change and gender in the drafting of the policy on national disaster risk reduction in particular.
