The UNDRR Stakeholder Engagement Mechanism (SEM) Action Plan 2024-2025
The expected outcomes during the years 2024 and 2025 are for SEM to:
- contribute to localisation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 (Sendai Framework), including local voices in SEM itself;
- contribute to policy coherence across international and regional agreements and treaties on sustainable development, climate change, environment and human rights, including the direct or indirect inclusion of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in policy outcomes of intergovernmental processes;
- reach an enhanced formal and informal recognition of SEM by relevant actors and spaces;
- facilitate active and meaningful engagement of SEM members, with equal opportunities for representation by all recognised stakeholder groups and with a aim to have geographical balance;
- special attention payed to and the full operationalisation of inclusivity of all demographics, based upon their unique needs and strengths;
- continue the mobilisation of new SEM members across demographics, resulting in an increased number of active SEM members and enhanced understanding of the member's affiliations and expertise;
- engage in and contribute to enhanced communication and coordination with regional, national and local DRR stakeholders;
- facilitate a space where stakeholders work together, and not in silos, to achieve collectively agreed goals.
