UNEP Disasters and Conflicts: policy and field updates January-July 2014 - Disaster risk reduction
This document reports on the disaster risk reduction (DRR) pillar of UNEP’s Disasters and Conflicts programme, which focuses on countries that have been identified as vulnerable to natural hazards, and on human-made disaster events with an environmental component. It highlights: (i) the promotion of UNEP Eco-DRR approaches in the post-2015 global framework on disaster risk reduction; (ii) the International Science Policy workshop on Eco-DRR and climate change adaptation held in Indonesia; (iii) the launch of the first first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Eco-DRR at UN Environment Assembly; and (iv) the release of a new study on chemical accident reporting in China.
