United Kingdom: Emergency powers act 1964 (revised 2005)

This act contains the government’s generic emergency powers legislation in Section 2. It is implied that there must be no expectation that the government will agree to use emergency powers, and that planning and response arrangements must assume that they will not be used. Section 1 was repealed by the Civil contingencies act 2004.
