United Kingdom: Felixstowe dock and railway company - Climate change adaptation report
This publication is the progress report produced by the Port of Felixstowe (United Kingdom) on their climate change adaptations. It sets out their progress in adapting to the current and future predicted effects of climate change on their organisation.
The adaptation measures undertaken by the Port are the following, among other (pp. 26-30):
- The port is installing equipment for monitoring lightning strikes which may impact on power supply continuity.
- Containers in areas at risk of flooding have been placed on concrete plinths.
- Procedures have been put in place to monitor weather conditions.
- Tarmac is being replaced by more heat resilient surfaces.
