UNV practice notes on disaster risk reduction

This document was developed to provide an understanding of volunteerism and its relationship to this focus area. The document intends to contribute to strengthening the capacity of stakeholders to more effectively engage partners in disaster risk reduction (DRR) during their advocacy and programming work. It presents relevant background information and basic concepts related to DRR. It also highlights good practices and lessons learned drawn from analysis of case studies of volunteering contributions of UNV and non-UNV programmes and projects in this field.
