Updated nationally determined contribution of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the global response to climate change

This updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) of the Republic of Kazakhstan is developed in accordance with Article 3 and Article 4 paragraph 11 of the Paris Agreement ratified by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This NDC includes information dedicated to facilitate clarity, transparency and understanding of the nationally determined contributions.

In terms of adaptation, the government of Kazakhstan prioritizes the adaptation needs of the key sectors impacted by climate change: Agriculture, water resources management, forestry, and disaster risk reduction. The state policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of adaptation to climate change will also address biodiversity loss, reflecting the principles and goals of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity as well as the UN Convention to Combat Desertification.
