Updated nationally determined contribution of the Republic of Tajikistan

The main objective of the nationally determined contribution (NDC) of the Republic of Tajikistan is to support sustainable and efficient development taking into consideration climate change, environmental and socio-economic challenges. Unlike country's original NDC, the Updated NDC includes the changes in an unconditional greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goal for 2030 and a conditional GHG emissions reduction goal. Additionally, the focus on adaptation has been strengthened.

To overcome the current and future serious economic and social consequences of climate change in the Republic of Tajikistan, it is necessary to encourage an implementation of effective adaptive measures and avoid maladaptation, across the priority sectors of the economy. This report details a number of strategic documents, programs and approaches that Tajikistan has adopted to address the implementation of adaptive measures.
