The publication outlines the first five years of the GEM initiative. The Global Science Forum of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has called for the development of a global, open-source risk assessment. In response to this need, GEM will provide an authoritative standard for calculating and communicating earthquake risk.
