This perspective document deals with water and climate issues in small island countries. It examines the coping and adaptation strategies adopted by Small Island Developing States (SIDS), the need to mainstream climate adaptation into water resources management and disaster risk reduction, and the advances made in implementation. It finally addresses with the political will and need for additional financing to the water and sanitation sector.
