Fire in the wildland-urban interface: understanding fire behavior

This fact sheet examines factors that affect fire behaviour, provides strategies to reduce fire risk, and gives examples of risk reduction. It aims at developing a basic understanding of the factors that determine wildfire movement and intensity (collectively called fire behaviour) to allow home-owners and builders to assess fire hazard on their property and determine what they can do to minimize their risk.
