Linkages between disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA)

First knowledge sharing and learning seminar, summing up:

This paper reports on a series of bi-monthly seminars organised by the Regional Climate Change Adaptation Knowledge Platform for Asia, which focused on the following questions: (i) what is the difference between CCA and DRR; (ii) are adaptation and DRR two distinct communities; (iii) what are the arguments for stronger linkages; and (iv) what is the way forward and how do we organize ourselves. It also presents the linkages between CCA/DRR and ecosystem as well as development; draws a picture of complementarity between CCA and DRR; and addresses the way forward in terms of data needs and information, as well as of data availability and communication.
