Advocacy strategy youth MENA region: Consultation with youth in MENA region
This joint advocacy strategy is the outcome of the Arab Youth Forum, conducted by the UN Major Group for Children and Youth during the 2nd Arab Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction, 13th September 2014, Sharm-El-Sheik, Egypt, in order to advance children's and youth's priorities, challenges and strengths in disaster risk reduction up to the post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction.
It presents the priorities and commitments in disaster risk reduction of youth in the MENA region, including: (i) the concerns of youth in the MENA region regarding disasters in the region; (ii) the priorities of youth in the MENA Region regarding disaster risk reduction in the following focus areas: education and capacity-building, youth involvement, governance, conflict and displacement, underlying risk factors, health and nutrition, and vulnerable group; and (iii) the voluntary commitment of youth in MENA region.
