Resilience by design

This action plan addresses proactively and strategically earthquake vulnerabilities in Los Angeles. It is the outcome of the extensive process of study and consultation on Los Angeles vulnerabilities, made by the seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones, with the collaboration of stakeholders and experts from academia, industry, business, government and communities. It incorporates cutting edge research and lessons learned from past earthquakes, focusing on three major sectors: fortification of buildings, fortification of the water system and fortification of telecommunications networks. These actions seek to strengthen resilience in Los Angeles for decades to come.
