Paris agreement on climate change: what it means for Nepal
This briefing paper analyses the significance of the Paris agreement to Nepal and further steps the country needs to take internationally and nationally to tackle climate change in post-Paris. It presents the background and history of UNFCCC negotiations, the main outcomes and Nepal’s participation in COP21. It also analyses the Paris Agreement from Nepal’s perspective in the long-term goal, mitigation, adaptation, loss and damage, and finance, and looks at the next steps in the process.
