IOM in disaster risk reduction and resilience
An average of 26.4 million people are displaced by disasters every year. This document provides a summary overview of IOM's work to assist Member States take forward the priorities of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. The work of the Organization situates mobility at the centre of efforts to support States to reduce risk and build resilience. Concrete assistance activities are organized under Prevention, Preparedness, Response, Recovery and Partnerships, stressing the intrinsic links between mobility, risk and resilience.
