Stories of impact: Amplifying Serbia’s financial resilience against natural hazards
The report presents the improvements that have been achieved in Serbia since May 2014, when the country experienced its most severe flooding in more than a century.
With the support from the World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), the National Disaster Risk Management Program (NDRMP) was established in Serbia. The program manages more than $80 million to strengthen crisis management systems, inform risk reduction interventions, and implement measures to better absorb fiscal shocks caused by natural disasters.
