Texas stormwater scorecard: Evaluating municipal policies for green stormwater infrastructure and low impact development
For this Texas Stormwater Scorecard, Environment Texas evaluated Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) and Low Impact Development (LID) policies in the state’s five largest cities using a modified version of a policy checklist from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The evaluations of each city were based on information available from or provided by municipal officials, state agencies, environmental organizations, and academic institutions from around Texas. Information was also gathered from many professionals who have worked on GSI/LID projects, including engineers, landscape architects, and providers of GSI/LID equipment and services. As none of Texas’s top cities achieved the highest possible score, this survey identifies areas for improvement that cities could prioritise next.
