Critical infrastructure and disaster resilience
Critical infrastructure resilience is a complex problem, the dimensions of which directly impinge upon achieving the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction’s overall goal. This issue brief describes recommended approaches to critical infrastructure and disaster resilience, drawing on private sector expertise and the collective operational experience of ARISE member companies.
Target audiences are governments implementing the Sendai Framework, and own, manage, and operate and maintain critical infrastructure systems; national focal points for Sendai Framework monitoring; cities wishing to become more resilient; and private sector companies that own or operate critical infrastructure systems.
