Adapting to climate change in New Zealand: Recommendations from the climate change adaptation technical working group
This report is the second and final report prepared by the Climate Change Adaptation Technical Working Group at the New Zealand Ministry for the Environment. It provides recommendations for the actions New Zealand needs to take to build resilience to the effects of climate change while growing the economy sustainably.
In this report the group:
- emphasises the urgency for action
- sets out foundational actions which are essential for effective adaptation
- sets out immediate actions which can be achieved relatively quickly and address a specific opportunity to act
- requests a timely government response to its recommendations which defines how and when these actions will be implemented.
